About Charles Rich
As the Executive Director of David & Margaret Youth and Family Services, Charles Rich takes his place in the leadership of an organization with over 100 years of rich history and service to youth and families in La Verne.
Back in the 1800s when the city of La Verne was known as Lordsburg, there was no child welfare system, no safety net for the underserved. Children who were orphaned or abandoned found themselves roaming the streets, struggling for survival and entirely dependent on the generosity of strangers. David & Margaret Youth and Family Services was originally founded as an orphanage and has grown today into an organization that empowers children, youth, and families through culturally diverse services that foster emotional, educational, spiritual, and identity development. Currently, they serve over 1,400 at-risk youth annually. Their residential program specializes in caring for at-risk girls ages 11-19. They accomplish our mission through several unique programs and services such as:
Foster Care and Adoption,
A Learning Enhancement Center,
Transitional Age Youth Housing Programs, and
The Joan Macy School - which is a certified non-public school providing special education, behavior intervention, counseling, and guidance.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, Creator of all that exists. The source of life and growth, of peace and joy, we thank You for Charles Rich and his gift of administration. Please give him vision and wisdom, good judgment and courage for him and his staff. Provide them with faith and a sense of purpose for the good work they do. Help them to remember that You share with them the power to administer, and that the work they do is Your work. Give them the satisfaction and joy in the performance of this work, Amen.
