This week, Praying210 has chosen Pastor Jim Scharn to support and encourage through our thoughts and prayers.

About Pastor Jim

Pastor Jim Scharn has been with La Verne Community Church since its beginning in 1999. At the time, Jim was the pastor of Pomona First Church of the Nazarene, when God laid on his heart a clear impression to reach out to the city of La Verne. With the encouragement and assistance of the Pomona church, a small group of folks "planted" the La Verne church, under the direction of Pastor Jim. For 2 years Jim was pastor at two locations; the Pomona Church and the new La Verne Community Church meeting at Oak Mesa Elementary School.

In 2001, Jim began full-time at La Verne. The continued certainty that God is directing this endeavor, along with the love and fellowship of the people of LVCC, has made this a joy in his life.

His main pride and joy, however, is his family. Pastor Jim is married to Cheryl, a wonderful partner, mother & teacher. Jim & Cheryl have two children, Krista and Nathan. Jim's passion is that everyone might know the love, joy and hope of a personal relationship with God, and become fully devoted followers of God. Join Jim and the rest of La Verne Community Church some Sunday morning!

Our Prayer . . .

Lord, we are making the decision to stand with Pastor Jim in prayer! We want to join him as a sincere prayer partner and support him spiritually by praying for him. I ask You to deliver him from people who have wrong motives.

I also pray that his ministry will be well received; that he will have joy in his ministry; that he will make right decisions and stay in the will of God; and that he will always feel strong and refreshed in his spirit, soul, and body. Please richly bless Pastor Jim, his wife, and his family.I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Encourage Jim by leaving him a note below letting him know you have prayed for him!

"So, first and foremost, I urge God’s people to pray. They should make their requests, petitions, and thanksgivings on behalf of all humanity. Teach them to pray for kings and leaders in places of influence so that we can lead quiet, peaceful lives—reverent, godly, and holy, all of which is good and acceptable before the eyes of God our Savior"

1Timothy 2:1-3
